Dr Anna Bull (The 1752 Group) explores the current work from research and campaigning organisation The 1752 Group in relation to applying the Office for Students regulatory requirements, with a particular focus on preventing abuses of power between staff and students. Dr Bull also introduces resources for addressing issues specific to postgraduate researchers.
Dr Anna Bull is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Education and Social Justice at the University of York, and co-director of The 1752 Group, a research and campaigning organisation working to address sexual misconduct in higher education. In 2021, industry publication Times Higher Education named her as one of their ‘Faces of 2021’, noting that her research ‘has made a substantial contribution to our understanding of the problem’ of sexual misconduct in universities. As well as multiple academic and public-facing publications on sexual misconduct in higher education, Anna sits on national advisory boards to address gender-based violence in higher education in the UK and Ireland and is a consultant with the EU Horizon-funded GenderSafe project, which is tackling gender-based violence across European research organisations.
