This session focuses on the current out of hours support model being delivered at the University of Cambridge. The model focuses on the development and implementation of a university-wide framework to support students in distress or crisis, whilst minimising the impact on staff and maintaining the boundaries of providing appropriate support within higher education. The session provides an overview of the practical implications and requirements to provide student-facing staff with rapid access to specialist mental health advice at the point of need.
Eva Seinsche is a Mental Health Social Worker with a specialisation in Forensic Mental Health, which she attained from Monash University in Melbourne. She has worked in this field since 2008 and has extensive experience working across mainstream and specialist clinical mental health services in Australia, Germany and Tanzania.
Since 2015, Eva has specialised in change implementation and management in health services and has been in her current role as Head of Mental Health Advice Service at the University of Cambridge since 2021. This has included collaborating in implementation and management of a major change programme in the provision of Student Support at the University of Cambridge and extensive liaison with local NHS trusts to develop and implement a specialist student mental health service.
