Encouraging students to disclose conditions and actively access support is a crucial part of the student support journey. However, even after addressing the first barrier of disclosure there can be a number of hurdles for students to overcome in terms of accessing and gaining support. This becomes particularly acute when factoring in start of year activities or students arriving through clearing.
This session looks at the experience of the University of East London Disability and Dyslexia team, explaining their approach to disclosure and plans to address barriers for students to engage.
