Compassionate communications: supporting students throughout their experience

11.25am – 12.25pm GMT, 7 February 2025 ‐ 1 hour

Room: Victoria Suite 1

Workshop

The Compassionate Communications Commitment was developed as part of the wider work of the Higher Education Mental Health Implementation Taskforce (HEMHIT) and was developed by a number of key stakeholders including representatives from AMOSSHE, ARC (Academic Registrars' Council), academic colleagues and external providers. This work helps develop a supportive community that’s genuine and consistent in its communications with students across an institution. This session provides you with a deeper understanding of the commitment and how your institution could implement this throughout your policies and processes. This is an opportunity to explore what this means for Student Services specifically and discuss with colleagues the benefits of implementing this approach within your context.
