Dr Anna Bull is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Education and Social Justice at the University of York, and co-director of The 1752 Group, a research and campaigning organisation working to address sexual misconduct in higher education. In 2021, industry publication Times Higher Education named her as one of their ‘Faces of 2021’, noting that her research ‘has made a substantial contribution to our understanding of the problem’ of sexual misconduct in universities. As well as multiple academic and public-facing publications on sexual misconduct in higher education, Anna sits on national advisory boards to address gender-based violence in higher education in the UK and Ireland and is a consultant with the EU Horizon-funded GenderSafe project, which is tackling gender-based violence across European research organisations.

Helen Munro has over 17 years of experience in the higher education sector and is currently Bangor University's institutional lead for the prevention of, and response to sexual misconduct, violence and harassment. Helen has worked in student support and student opportunities roles at Bangor, and prior to joining the university in 2007, worked within the supported housing sector, primarily with young people who had experienced sexual or domestic violence. Helen is also a qualified teacher, using her skills to develop engaging training and learning opportunities for staff and students alike. Helen was awarded a Bangor University Teaching Fellowship in 2024 for her body of work in educating the university's students and staff in the prevention of sexual violence and all forms of harassment.

Andrea Strachan is an accomplished leader and collaborator known for driving organisational transformation and achieving ambitious objectives in complex and rapidly changing environments. With a career spanning the private, public, and non-profit sectors, Andrea has consistently delivered impactful results across various roles, from CEO of a charity to Programme Integration Lead on a £1.6 billion government initiative. Her experience is especially deep within the higher education sector, where she currently serves as the Director of Student Life and Deputy Director of Student and Academic Services at the University of Glasgow.
In her current role, Andrea oversees a comprehensive portfolio of student services, including leadership development, careers and employability, advising, and wellbeing initiatives. She is responsible for guiding a multi-disciplinary team to create an inclusive, supportive, and engaging environment that empowers students to succeed academically, socially, and personally. Her efforts are instrumental in aligning these services with the university’s strategic goals, enhancing student satisfaction, engagement, and retention.
Andrea is also a Director (Membership) of the International Association of Student Affairs and Services (IASAS), a global network dedicated to fostering excellence in university Student Services. In previous roles, including as Director of Student Services at the University of Queensland, Andrea led a department serving over 57,000 students, where she introduced innovative strategies, such as service automation, social media integration for student outreach, sexual misconduct support and prevention and 24/7 crisis support services. Her visionary approach has reshaped student services, improved operational efficiency, and established strong networks across government, educational, and private sectors.
A champion for diversity, inclusion, and continuous improvement, Andrea is passionate about creating environments where both students and staff thrive. Her dedication to student-centred service, operational excellence, and cross-functional collaboration continues to leave a lasting impact on higher education.

Dr Emma Young is Deputy Director of Student Services (Health and Wellbeing) at Manchester Metropolitan University where she has worked since March 2023. Emma leads on services under the health and wellbeing thematic, including Student Welfare and Pastoral Services, Counselling, Mental Health and Wellbeing Services and Sport. As part of her role, Emma chairs the University’s Harassment and Sexual Misconduct Operational Group and the Substance Use Policy Group, driving forward work on all forms of harassment and sexual misconduct alongside harm reduction approaches to substance use.
Prior to joining Manchester Met, Emma worked in senior management roles at several other HEIs in the UK, including most recently at the University of Bradford where, as Associate Director Student Success and Wellbeing, she was the project lead for an OfS-funded project examining South Asian student perceptions and experiences of mental health support.
